Job description

Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Salem, OR
Job Type: Part-Time
Shifts: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm (20 hours per week)
Setting: Outpatient - Adults & Geriatric Population
Specialty: General Orthopedic and Neurologic Cases

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to assess functional abilities, safety, and patient needs.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on ADLs, functional mobility, upper-extremity rehab, chronic condition management, and cognitive/perceptual deficits.

  • Provide interventions for conditions commonly seen in adult and geriatric populations, including:

    • Stroke and neurological disorders

    • Orthopedic injuries and post-operative recovery

    • Arthritis, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal conditions

    • Balance impairments and fall risk

    • Cognitive decline or mild dementia

  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies, exercises, home programs, and durable medical equipment.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, PTs, SLPs, and other interdisciplinary team members.

  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge plans in accordance with regulatory and clinic standards.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive clinic culture.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

  • Active Oregon OT license (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Experience in outpatient or adult/geriatric rehabilitation strongly preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in orthopedic occupational outpatient therapy

Patient & Work Details:

  • 1:1 patient sessions, 30-40 minutes each

  • Patient age range: 17-75 years

  • No on-call, weekend, or night shifts
