The position of Part-Time STEM Instructor is a pooled position and applications will be reviewed on an as needed, on-going basis.

Due to a need in the STEM field and an increase in enrollment, the STEM department is looking to recruit qualified instructors in the following areas: General Biology, Chemistry, and Nutrition. If you are interested in helping students learn and are passionate about helping community college students reach their educational goals, then this part-time faculty position will be of interest to you!
The part time faculty members of Umpqua Community College are committed to facilitating learning using the most up to date pedagogy, technology, and discipline specific knowledge. All faculty are responsible for teaching in all modalities and keeping current in new modalities that develop in higher education. Although facilitating learning is the most important role of the faculty, the needs of learners are also served when faculty are engaged in service to the college and student support activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:

• Commensurate with State of Oregon requirements of respective academic and/or technical field:
  1. For CTE faculty this is an associate degree and at least 3 years of experience or the equivalent (bachelor's preferred)
  2. For General Education faculty, this is a Master's in the discipline or the equivalent.

Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years community college teaching experience
• A minimum of five years of verifiable experience related to the field.
• Online instruction experiences preferred, classroom teaching experience desirable
