Position Summary

The Event Staff position is responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of all individuals on the property. The role includes ensuring the premises are secure during events, conducting regular walks throughout your assigned area of the property, and interacting with employees, contractors, and guests to ensure a positive experience. You will be expected to respond to various situations in a calm, professional manner and assist in managing any disruptions on the premises.

This role pays an hourly rate of $17.60-$18.60 CAD

Benefits for Part-Time roles: Pension matching.

This position will remain open until August 14, 2026.

Renowned for its industry-leading standards and commitment to excellence, Canada Life Place is a premier destination for fans, artists, and athletes alike.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all building access points are properly secured when necessary.
  • Perform routine walks through your assigned area of the property to assess and address any concerns.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations or disturbances, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Maintain positive, professional interactions with staff, guests, and management at all levels.
  • Safeguard the well-being of individuals on the property by addressing any issues proactively.
  • Handle any disruptive individuals appropriately, with a focus on conflict resolution and positive outcomes.
  • Work independently and use judgment to assess situations and respond accordingly.
  • Provide clear, accurate directions when needed, particularly in emergency or urgent situations.
Qualifications
  • Ontario Smart Serve certification required.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar environment, particularly in customer-facing roles.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.

  • Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours, including but not limited to working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays in addition to traditional business hours

  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.

  • Comfort with using communication tools like two-way radios.

  • Ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and emergency personnel when necessary.
