Job description

Do you have a passion for crafting immersive, experiential builds that bring environments to life? We're looking for a skilled fabricator/designer to help design and construct custom photobooths for bars. These booths range in style and material, and must be durable enough to withstand the wildest of nights.

If you have experience building theater sets, tradeshow exhibits, or other large-scale artistic structures, you'll thrive in this role!

About Us: We create custom photobooths that need to be visually captivating while holding up in high-traffic environments. Think of this as part art, part construction, and part problem-solving!

What You'll Do:

  • Design and fabricate the exteriors of custom photobooths.
  • Work with a range of materials (wood, sheet metal, thermoplastics, foam, etc.) to build rugged and creative booth exteriors.
  • Ensure that each booth aligns with both functional and aesthetic goals.
  • Create durable builds that are both interactive and beautiful, drawing on set design, exhibit fabrication, and scenic construction techniques.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Hands-on Fabricator with experience in building theater sets, tradeshow exhibits, or similar large-scale installations.
  • Expert Model Maker capable of working with a variety of materials like wood, foam, fiberglass, metal, and more.
  • Strong carpentry and construction skills with an eye for precision and durability.
  • Problem solver who can handle the creative and logistical challenges of building experiential structures in bars.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, SketchUp, or similar) and the ability to translate designs into functional builds.
  • Knowledge of automotive painting, airbrushing, and prototype modeling is a plus.

Skills Required:

  • Set design and construction experience
  • Expertise in carpentry and fabrication
  • Knowledge of durable materials and construction methods
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and adapt designs based on site conditions
  • Familiarity with large-format fabrication techniques used in tradeshow or theater production

Details:

  • Position: Part-time, around 10-20 hours a week, but varies depending on projects
  • Pay: $35-50/hr based on experience

How to Apply: Send us pictures or videos of something you've built that showcases your skillswhether it's a set, exhibit, or custom project. We're especially interested in seeing how you blend creativity with functionality and craftsmanship. Bonus points if you explain the creative process.
Applications without photos or descriptions of prior work will be ignored.
