Job Description
Dakota County Technical College seeks a temporary, part-time Electrical Linework Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. Responsibilities:
  • Teach electrical linework curriculum, including lecture, labs.
  • Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to: instructional planning, curriculum development, student evaluation and records, classroom/climate preparation and management, interpersonal relations, promote safety in all aspects of program activities, participate in professional development experiences, work as an effective team member of the department, maintenance of professional skills and credentials, and participate on college.

Summer cohort will start July 6, 2026.
Fall Assignment will start on August 24, 2026.

Salary Range:
  • Faculty assigned less than 5 credits: Per credit rate of $775 - $1650.
  • Faculty assigned 5 or more credits total: $43,067 - $96,601 Annually (Based upon 1.0 FTE of 32 credits per years. Pay will be prorated, based upon credit load). Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2025 - 2027 MSCF Contract, and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office. Initial placement is limited to the step range permitted for new faculty under the MSCF salary schedule.

Education Requirement
  • Diploma in an electrical linework program.

Occupational Experience Requirement
  • Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in electrical linework.

Recency Requirement
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Preferred Qualification
  • Higher education teaching experience with diverse student populations
  • Experience with learning communities or team teaching
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including web enhanced and online instruction
  • Experience developing and using student centered, active and experiential learning strategies
  • Experience integrating cross cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
  • Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus wide and classroom learning outcomes
  • Experience with accelerated adult learning
