Job description

Service Technician / HVAC Technician / HVAC Engineer required to join a leading, well-established commercial HVAC contractor offering diverse projects, career growth, and hands-on experience across installation, service, and maintenance in Central and South Texas.


The successful Service Technician / HVAC Technician / HVAC Engineer will work independently or as part of a team which will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, installation, consultation, design, & estimation for a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment.


The ideal Service Technician / HVAC Technician / HVAC Engineer will have strong experience in a service vehicle, doing service work for an HVAC contractor and the ability to work with a team.

Service Technician / HVAC Technician / HVAC Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Perform HVAC start-up, warranty repair, and maintenance on commercial systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and packaged VAV units, ensuring all work meets local and national codes.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of HVAC equipment such as air conditioners, heat pumps, gas/electric heaters, zone controls, and variable speed systems.
  • Complete all required documentation, reports, and data entry accurately and on time, while maintaining professional conduct with clients and team members.
  • Assist, train, and mentor HVAC helpers as needed, maintain truck equipment and inventory, and participate in on-call rotation, department meetings, and ongoing training.


Service Technician / HVAC Technician / HVAC Engineer Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a commercial HVAC technician with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • EPA Certification and State Registration, with a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Experience with 4-Pipe (CHW & HHW) systems, chillers, gas-fired boilers, inline and end suction pumps, VFDs, large air handlers, and packaged rooftop units.
  • Ability to climb in attics, on roofs, under houses, lift up to 75 lbs, and work efficiently in diverse commercial environments.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, professional appearance, and a genuine, personable attitude.
  • High school diploma or GED, physically and mentally capable of handling demanding HVAC work.
