Job description

Summary/Objective

The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support for a fast-paced Human Resources department supporting manufacturing and corporate employees. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, payroll and timekeeping activities, temporary staffing administration, employee engagement initiatives, and day-to-day employee support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer focused, detail oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.


Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department and site leadership
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, background checks, drug screen coordination, and new hire paperwork
  • Create employee badges and assist with employee uniform ordering, exchanges, and cancellations
  • Maintain HR records through scanning, filing, document organization, and secure document destruction
  • Prepare employee communications, announcements, and other department materials
  • Coordinate meetings, training sessions, visitor schedules, and employee events
  • Assist with employee recognition programs, engagement activities, birthdays, and service anniversaries
  • Monitor and order office supplies, HR materials, badges, and other department resources
  • Support invoice coding and routine administrative reporting
  • Respond to employee inquiries and direct questions to the appropriate HR team member
  • Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs

This position is responsible for supporting the food safety management system and for communicating food safety issues to the Quality Department.
