Position Details
  • Position: Part-Time Assistant Teacher
  • Location: Northampton Community College Child Care Center & Early Childhood Education Lab School - Tannersville, PA (Hannig Family Children's Center)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday with flexible split-shift opportunities available: 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Pay Rate: $15.00-$19.00 per hour based on education and experience

What You'll Do
As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with daily classroom routines and activities
• Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
• Maintaining active supervision and ensuring children's safety
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
• Helping prepare classroom materials and learning centers
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces
• Collaborating professionally with teaching teams and administration
• Participating in trainings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
Required
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience working with children preferred
Preferred
• CDA, ECE coursework, or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Experience in a NAEYC Accreditation Plus or Keystone STARS program
