Join the team at Watermill Kitchen Bar, the award-winning restaurant located inside the Hyatt Regency Coralville in the Iowa River Landing district. Recognized as the 2025 Best New Restaurant of the Year by the Corridor Business Journal, Watermill combines elevated Midwestern cuisine, creative cocktails, and genuine hospitality to deliver an exceptional dining experience for every guest. We are seeking passionate hospitality professionals who take pride in creating memorable moments and delivering outstanding service.

We are currently seeking an energetic and guest-focused Bartender to create memorable experiences for our restaurant, lounge and hotel guests.

Schedule:

This primarily works second-shift hours and requires open availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on hotel occupancy, business demands, and event schedules. This is a part-time position.

Compensation:
$10/hour plus tips

Purpose of the Position:

The Watermill Kitchen Bar Bartender is responsible for creating exceptional guest experiences through outstanding beverage service, product knowledge, and genuine hospitality. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring responsible alcohol service, and supporting overall restaurant operations.

As a Watermill Breakfast Bartender, you would:

  • Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Recommend beverages, cocktails, wine, and menu pairings to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area throughout the shift.
  • Process guest orders and payments accurately through the POS system.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure compliance with all responsible alcohol service guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of current menus, seasonal offerings, and daily specials.
  • Assist restaurant servers and support team members as needed.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side work duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health department requirements.
  • Participate in inventory control, stocking, and product rotation.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality that encourages guest loyalty and repeat business.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and assist with special events when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for our next amazing associate, who will have:

  • Previous bartending experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Strong guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience operating a POS system and handling guest transactions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Strong reliability, professionalism, and teamwork skills.
  • TIPS certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Must meet all state and local requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
