Job description

Hours: Part-time (Mon-Fri)


Requirements:

Must have a current, valid Indiana nursing license for this position. One + years’ experience preferred; pediatric/school nurse experience is a plus.

Position is supervised by School Administration and the Corporation Head Registered Nurse

This position will provide healthcare to the school population in accordance with the Indiana Nurse Practice Act for Licensed Practical Nurses. Work requires computer documentation as well as possible prolonged sitting and/or standing. Candidates should be organized, self-directed, have good written and verbal communication skills, be compassionate and caring, and be able to function and think in a fast paced, busy environment. This position supports the educational process by working to assure the health of the students.


Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Medication administration/management, documentation written and/or electronic, providing first aid and emergency care as needed, care of acute and chronic illnesses, triage and assessment of office visits, medical treatments and procedures, daily health care, following individual health plans, maintain confidentiality of health information, assist in health care screenings such as vision and hearing as needed, adhere to universal precautions, referrals to other care or higher levels of care as needed, provide health education based on needs, and other duties as assigned by School Administration and/or the Corporation Head Registered Nurse.
