Join a collaborative OB/GYN team at the modern, state-of-the-art IU Health Bloomington Hospital, serving patients across suburban, semi-rural, and rural communities. This opportunity offers a well-rounded practice with a balance of outpatient care, inpatient obstetrics, and gynecologic surgery, all within a supportive, team-oriented environment. IU Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified OB/GYN Generalist to join a growing group of physicians and advanced practice providers dedicated to delivering high-quality care.
Opportunity Details
  • Full-time, established practice with:
    • 9 full-time generalist physicians
    • 2 OB Hospitalists
    • 4 part time GYN physicians
    • 6 Nurse Practitioners
    • 12 Certified Nurse Midwives
    • 40 support staff
  • We average 1,850 deliveries annually, level 3 NICU
  • Full-scope OB/GYN with robotics available (optional)
  • Collaborative, team-based culture focused on quality care
Schedule & Call
  • Team-based call model with 1st (in-house) and 2nd (backup) call
  • OB Hospitalist support reduces overnight burden
  • 1st call:
    • 1-2 weekday 12-hr shifts/month
    • Shared 48-hr weekend shift/month (2 12-hr days or nights for a total of 24 hours)
  • 2nd call:
    • 2-3 weekday 24-hr shifts/month
    • Shared 48-hr weekend shift/month (2 12-hr days or nights alternating with 1st call shifts that weekend)
  • APP support 24/7 (2 CNMs 10a-10p; 1 CNM 10p-10a)
Key Responsibilities
  • Full-scope OB/GYN care (clinic + hospital)
  • Deliveries, C-sections, and GYN surgery
  • Collaborate with physicians, CNMs, APPs, and EM residents (inpatient-only occurring 18 weeks annually)

Healthcare System/Hospital Description
The new IU Health Bloomington Hospital and Regional Academic Health Center, part of the Indiana University Health Medical Group, opened in December 2021. The facility offers a personalized approach to inpatient services (including intensive care, complex surgeries and comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services), outpatient services with leading-edge diagnostic testing, flexible space in the emergency department for post-care observation, a dedicated trauma center and a cancer infusion center.
At the same time, the facility strengthens healthcare education by providing space for collaboration and coordination of care and teaching. Students and trainees frequently come to the hospital side of the facility for clinical experiences.
