Part-Time UX/UI Lead
Employment Type: Part-Time / Contract / Contingent Upon Contract Award
Recommended Pay Range: $55–$70 per hour
Location: Remote / Hybrid as required by project needs
Position Summary
Extreme Government Solutions is seeking a part-time UX/UI Lead to support a potential client-facing digital learning and web content project. The UX/UI Lead will help ensure digital products are intuitive, accessible, visually consistent, and easy for users to navigate.
This is a contingent position. Work will begin only if the company is awarded the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead user experience and interface design for web-based training, digital content, and related project deliverables.
- Create or refine wireframes, layouts, mockups, user flows, navigation structures, and interface recommendations.
- Ensure designs are user-centered, accessible, responsive, and aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, multimedia staff, analytics staff, cybersecurity staff, and project leadership to deliver high-quality digital products.
- Review digital content for usability, readability, visual consistency, and ease of navigation.
- Support Section 508 and WCAG-aligned accessibility requirements.
- Recommend design improvements based on user needs, project goals, feedback, and analytics.
- Maintain design documentation, style guidance, and interface standards as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience leading UX/UI design for websites, web applications, digital training, or learning platforms.
- Ability to create wireframes, user flows, mockups, or prototypes.
- Familiarity with accessibility, responsive design, plain-language principles, and user-centered design.
- Experience using common design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar platforms.
- Strong visual design judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to work part-time while meeting project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting government, healthcare, veteran, education, or public-facing digital content.
- Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and accessible design standards.
- Experience designing for adult learners, training programs, or web-based courseware.
- Ability to work with developers and multimedia staff to move designs from concept to implementation.
Work Schedule
Part-time hours will vary based on project phase, deliverables, and client requirements.
