Job description

Part Time High School English Aide
American Heritage School is a mission-driven, faith-centered private school aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are seeking a part time high school English aide who is passionate about both academic excellence and helping students grow spiritually, socially, and intellectually.

Nature of the Role
This position is considered a faith-forming role within American Heritage School. In addition to grading and assisting teachers, aides are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Qualifications
We are seeking a Teacher's Aide to support grading and feedback in AP English and Creative Writing courses. The ideal candidate has strong reading and writing skills, can evaluate student work using rubrics, and provides clear, constructive feedback that helps students grow. This person should be detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and an effective written communicator, while also maintaining confidentiality and consistency in grading. Applicants must submit one analytical writing sample and one creative writing sample and must be able to work on campus.
Applicants should also show a commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Faith and Mission Responsibilities
In addition to responsibilities listed above, aides at AHS are expected to:
• Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning where appropriate
• Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students
• Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues
• Participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities
• Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school's mission
Professional Expectations
Candidates should be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement. Personal conduct, public statements, and online presence, both on and off campus, are expected to reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose.
Extracurricular Opportunities
Applicants are encouraged to share any interest or experience in supporting AHS extracurricular athletics programs. AHS prefers to fill coaching and activity roles with employees who have both the interest and skills to mentor students in these areas.
Position Details
This position is available starting August 19, for the 2026–2027 school year for 12 hours a week.
Important Note to Applicants
AHS is a mission-driven, faith-centered school. Employment at AHS requires alignment with and support of the school's religious mission and values. Individuals who are unable or unwilling to support these expectations should carefully consider whether this position is a good fit.
