Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy is seeking a compassionate and reliable Part-Time Registered Nurse to support the health and well being of students in a PK - 12th grade school setting, Wednesday 8 am to 3:45 pm and Friday 8 am to 1:15 pm. The School Nurse will provide daily health services, promote wellness, and ensure a safe learning environment for all students. In particular we are seeking someone with experience in diabetic management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first aid, illness assessment, and emergency care to students and staff

  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies

  • Manage student health records and maintain accurate documentation; contact parents as needed if medical records are incomplete or outdated

  • Develop and implement individual healthcare plans and emergency action plans

  • Communicate with parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs

  • Support students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)

  • Participate in health screenings and promote health education as needed

  • Ensure compliance with state health regulations and school district policies

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification

  • 2 - 4 years experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or community health preferred

  • Must have experience in diabetes management

  • Technology proficient; experience with SNAP preferred

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions

  • Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality
