General Description
SUNY Niagara has a need for a part time Health Education Instructor to teach various health education courses This position will be responsible for teaching students throughout the academic semester.
Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $1,008 per lecture hour/$903 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Candidates that submit their information may or may not be notified as to the status of their application.
Typical Work Activities
  • Teach courses in the delivery format agreed upon (on campus, hybrid, blended or online)
  • Track attendance as needed
  • Complete census reports
  • Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester
  • Report grades at the conclusion of the semester

Essential Functions
Ability to work with, and teach a diverse student population. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community. Must be able to develop, prepare and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Health, Health Education, Human Performance or related field to teach health related classes in the Health & Physical Education Department.
Desirable Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Physical Education or Health, Health Education of Health-related field;
• Previous teaching experience at a community college or 4-year college/university.
• Remote learning teaching experience.
• Experience with the BlackBoard learning management system.
