Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Responsible for completing teaching courses included in general health science degrees which may include Health and Wellness courses, Health Information Management courses and courses for the Healthcare Management 3+1. Courses are taught online through Blackboard Ultra. Faculty are required to utilized the template, lectures, syllabus and assignments as provided. Course development is not needed or a part of this requirement. Faculty are required to promptly answer student questions and assign dates and times to assignments outlined in the course. May include grading discussion questions or papers as well as monitoring student progress in the courses. Responsible for regularly interacting with the course coordinator and dean of the department. Please note: course caps may be up to 40 students.
Adjunct Faculty will be paid $720 per credit hour for this position. Sr. Adjunct Faculty will be paid $770 per credit hour. Health Sciences Adjunct Faculty will be paid $900 per credit hour.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports the mission and goals of the college
  • Complies with accreditation policies and procedures as applicable
  • Meets with course coordinator for orientation to the course and periodically throughout the semester to update on student performance (email and virtual)

Minimum Qualifications
Education Required:
  • Master's degree
  • Experience in a healthcare field or master's degree in an area of management

Experience Required:
At least two years' experience working with students and or working in a healthcare area or a degree commensurate with experience in a healthcare field
Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:
  • Ability to plan, strategize, and coordinate effectively
  • Competent in communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to learn Blackboard Ultra tools
  • Accountable, dependable, and trustworthy

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
