Job description

This position is part-time, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

·         Answer phones and direct caller to the appropriate department or email the department supervisor with a message.  Check voicemail and return calls with information requested.

·         Pick up mail from Post Office and distribute.

·         Take directions from Council President, Secretary/Treasurer, Mayor for information required by them.

·         Work closely with the Secretary/Treasurer regarding Stormwater Maintenance applications, Zoning Hearing requests and Conditional Use applications.

·         Gather information from property files for Right To Know requests and provide the information to the Secretary/Treasurer.

·         Process Change of Use for Resale applications by recording information on spreadsheet, provide information to Codes/Zoning Officer and follow through till sale is complete.  Ensure Use of Occupancy Certificate is filed in Property File and Address Database is updated.

·         Receive resident/commercial permits, process internally to track progress till permit is completed.  Work closely with the Codes/Zoning Officer on the progress of the permit, ensure all permits are completed and applicant is provided with the necessary documentation to proceed with the project.

·         Gather articles from Borough Organizations for bi-yearly Newsletter.  Prepare articles to submit to Hometown Printing, proofread and prepare newsletters for distribution through USPS.

·         Process Mass Gathering and Banner Permit application for Memorial Day and Halloween Parades.  Gather all signatures and documents, prepare Special Permit application to submit to PADOT in a timely manner, notify applicant when PADOT permit is approved.

·         Work closely with Public Works Department supervisor for Road Closure permits and notify residents through social media and Borough website.

·         Prepare letters for rental landlords yearly for submission of Rental Registration.  Maintain rental records for inspection and work closely with Codes/Zoning Officer to ensure inspections are completed in a timely manner.

·         Maintain schedule for Park and Pickleball Court rentals.

·         Update website as needed.

·         Attend Council meetings on first and third Monday of the month.  In absence of Borough Secretary record/transcribe minutes of the meeting.

·         Ensure new Ordinances are submitted to General Code for update to Borough Ordinance link.  Update Borough Ordinance books with Ordinance changes.
