🎃 Join the Spooktacular Entertainment Team at SeaWorld San Diego! 🎃Costume Characters, Dancers & DJs

SeaWorld San Diego is seeking energetic, enthusiastic performers to help bring our family-friendly Halloween celebration, Spooktacular, to life!

Spooktacular is SeaWorld's daytime Halloween event filled with music, dancing, costumes, trick-or-treating, and unforgettable family fun. We're looking for talented individuals who love entertaining guests and creating memorable experiences for children and families.

Roles Being Cast🎭 Costume Characters

Bring beloved Halloween characters to life through movement, expression, and guest interaction. Performers must be comfortable working in full-body costumes, engaging with guests of all ages, and maintaining character throughout the performance experience.

💃 Dancers

Seeking high-energy dancers with strong performance skills and the ability to learn and retain choreography quickly. Experience in jazz, musical theatre, hip-hop, commercial dance, or related styles is preferred.

🎤 DJs / Party Hosts

Looking for charismatic, outgoing entertainers who can energize crowds, lead dance parties, engage guests on the microphone, and create a fun, festive atmosphere throughout the event. Previous hosting, DJ, emcee, or guest engagement experience is preferred.

Audition RequirementsDancers

Please come prepared to learn and perform choreography.

DJs / Party Hosts

Be prepared to participate in an interview and demonstrate your ability to engage an audience through improvisation and crowd interaction.

Please prepare a one-minute, family-friendly, high-energy monologue that showcases your personality and performance abilities.

Event Dates & Availability

Spooktacular performances will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from September 11, 2026 to November 2, 2026.

Rehearsals will begin in August 2026. Candidates must be available for rehearsals as scheduled, including weekday and evening rehearsals.

Pay Rate

$19.00+ per hour, depending on role, experience, and performer assignment.

What It Takes to Join the Team
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in dance, theatre, live entertainment, theme park entertainment, or related performance fields preferred.
  • Strong guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in front of large audiences and interact with guests of all ages.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback and adapt accordingly.
  • Comfortable working around theatrical effects including fog, haze, bubbles, scents, and other show elements.
  • Ability to stand, walk, dance, bend, kneel, squat, and perform repetitive physical movements for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, rehearsals, and special events as scheduled.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, enthusiasm, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
