Are you someone who enjoys maintaining a clean and well-kept environment? Arlington Properties is looking for a Groundskeeperย to help keep our community looking its best. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping the property grounds, stairways, and public areas neat, clean, and free of debris, while also assisting with basic maintenance tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities:
  • Groundskeeping: Regularly inspect and clean property grounds, stairways, and common areas. Remove trash, sweep walkways, rake grounds, and perform other tasks to ensure all areas are clean and well-maintained.
  • Maintenance Assistance: Assist the Service Manager with basic maintenance tasks, including cleaning, minor repairs, and preparing units for new residents.
  • Safety & Inspections: Inspect the property for safety hazards, such as non-functioning lights, exposed wiring, or broken fences, and report any issues to the Service Manager.
  • Supply Management: Work with the Service Manager to maintain the storage area, requisition supplies, and ensure proper organization.
  • Pool Maintenance: If applicable, assist with basic pool maintenance and ensure the pool area is clean and presentable.
  • Trash Removal: Regularly empty trash, transport it to dumpsters, and ensure the dumpster area is kept neat and clean.
  • Snow & Ice Removal: Assist with snow and ice removal during inclement weather to ensure safe access to walkways and common areas.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to residents, ensuring their maintenance concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Experience:

No experience is required. Must have proven ability to successfully work as a team member. No specific educational level is required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Position requires good customer service skills. Must be able to work effectively with a team of people.

Machines, Tools and Equipment, Software:

Hand tools normally used in construction, maintenance and landscaping. Power tools including circular saw, power drill, bench grinder, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, power floor cleaner, carpet shampoo machine, paint sprayer, power drain cleaner, chain saw, key machine, and all chemicals associated with maintenance and landscaping essential job functions. Motorized Vehicles.

Licenses/Certificates:

Valid driverโ€™s license along with good driving record with auto insurance required. Must be EPA or CFC certifiable.

Other Requirements:

As an Arlington Properties associate you represent Arlington Properties. While you are on the job, Arlington Properties expects you to wear clothing and accessories that are appropriate in a professional business environment. If a uniform is required at your property, you are expected to wear it. Refer to Arlington Properties Dress Code Guidelines for additional information.

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES

Inside and outside work in all types of weather. Medium to heavy work requiring prolonged or repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and lifting to a maximum of 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. Good eye/hand coordination is essential. Color perception, the ability to differentiate colors in terms of hue, and the ability to identify a particular color or combination from memory is required. Must be able to lift and work heavy equipment and utilize a ladder as required.
