Position: Grounds Crew/Operator
Department: Keith Hills
Status: Part Time
Position Summary:
The Grounds Crew/Operator position is a part-time position that under the supervision of the course superintendent, assistant superintendents and equipment manager, performs all aspects of maintenance to the grounds of Keith Hills Golf Club.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Mowing turfgrass including greens, fairways, tee boxes, roughs and landscaped areas.
  • Performs daily course setup to include moving tees, pin locations, out of bounds and hazard markers.
  • Performs all aspects of landscape maintenance including pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, edging and blowing.
  • Performs sand-trap maintenance including raking and edging.
  • This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education/Experience:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in golf course maintenance of landscaping preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Maintain a valid North Carolinas driver's license.
  • Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with golfers, faculty, staff, students, and university officials.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
  • Upon hire, have a broad knowledge of, and abide by, Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and FERPA guidelines.
