Golf Maintenance Worker
Summary: Under supervision, perform journeyman level work in the operation of tools and light equipment used in the construction and maintenance of a golf course.
Essential functions:
  • Operate large, motorized power mowing equipment

  • Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools and light equipment necessary to the maintenance of the golf courses

  • Mow greens, tees, fairways and rough

  • Placing portable sprinklers or hand-watering critical areas as directed

  • Change cups on greens and move tee markers

  • Trim and rake sand traps

  • Maintain golf ball washers

  • Rake leaves, cut weeds

  • Must be able to perform manual labor tasks involving lifting 50lb bags of fertilizer or seed, digging or raking using hand tools, bending frequently to perform various tasks and operating small equipment requiring pushing and pulling.

  • Able to Lift up to 75 lbs to fill and replace water coolers on the course

Additional responsibilities:
  • Assist in installing, repairing and maintain sprinkler and drainage systems

  • Be able to follow the Golf Course Maintenance Standards

Qualifications and skills:
  • Previous equipment operation experience

  • Golf course maintenance experience

Physical demands:
  1. Ability to stand for long periods of time

  1. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb without any difficulty.

  1. Lifting up to 75 pounds

Requirements;
  • Must be 16 years of age

Work environment:
  1. Ability to work in all weather conditions (extreme cold/ extreme heat, rain, snow, etc)

  1. Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends, travel to multiple work sites

The pay range for this position is $16.50 to $19.00/per hour. The actual pay rate offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and the amount budgeted for the role.
