GREENSWORKER
LOCATION: Quail Run Golf Course, Sun City
Hours/Days: 4am-11:00am; Tues - Friday

Starting Rate: $16.50/hour
Job Summary: Performs work in the skilled care and maintenance of golf course fairways and greens and the maintenance facilities of an assigned Executive, Regulation or Multi-Course golf course.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Mow Greens using hand or power driven lawn mowers and equipment
  • Trim Trees
  • Operate special equipment for spraying and/or spreading fertilizers
  • Change greens cups
  • Rake and edge bunkers
  • Perform janitorial work in maintenance yard and golf courses
  • Perform minor maintenance of equipment
  • Paint facility items as required
  • Participate in mandatory safety training and prioritize safety throughout the workday.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • One year of experience in golf course and/or grounds maintenance
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the game of golf.
  • Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in developing and maintaining golf courses.
  • Knowledge of the mowing techniques required to maintain proper grass level.
  • Knowledge of the procedures and techniques used in the care and maintenance of shrubs, trees and other greenery.
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor in a variety of weather and working conditions.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds and to seek help and/or provide assistance to others with any object(s) over that weight.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, golfers and the public
  • Awareness of safety issues and procedures related to position.

  • Involves moderate exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises
