Job description

Position Summary
As an Engineer, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, upkeep and service requests in accordance with hotel standards. Will also assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned.
Essential Functions
  • Receive and prioritize daily work assignments from the Director of Engineering, coordinating projects with relevant departments such as Housekeeping and Front Office.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks in guest rooms and public areas, including painting, wallpaper installation, furniture refinishing, and resolving guest service requests.
  • Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials to ensure safe, efficient operations and compliance with hotel safety standards (e.g., OSHA requirements).
  • Conduct regular rounds to inspect the property for maintenance needs, cleanliness, safety hazards, and necessary touch-ups, addressing issues proactively.
  • Respond to work orders and guest calls promptly and professionally, maintaining a high level of service and operational standards.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork, update work orders, and communicate follow-up needs before finishing shifts.
  • Adhere to hotel policies and procedures, including service, safety, attendance, and key security protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with teammates and other departments, performing additional duties or special projects as assigned by management to support overall hotel operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, service procedures, 4 Keys service standards, and safety and security procedures.
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Abilities
  • Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Requires effective communication skills.
  • Safety requirements of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment.

Pay: The rate of pay for this position is $16
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
