Is there a demand for garbage truck drivers?

Garbage truck drivers are in steady demand due to ongoing waste management needs in many communities. The job often requires commercial driver's licenses (CDL) and physical stamina, and employment opportunities are generally stable with some growth expected as urban populations increase.

What is the 60 70 rule in trucking?

The 60/70 rule in trucking refers to a guideline that drivers should not drive more than 60 hours in 7 consecutive days or 70 hours in 8 days to ensure safety and compliance with hours-of-service regulations. For part-time garbage truck drivers, adhering to these limits helps prevent fatigue and maintain safe operation during scheduled routes.

Is 40 too old to get CDL?

Part time garbage truck drivers typically need a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), which has no maximum age limit as long as the driver meets health and driving record requirements. Many employers value experience and safe driving history over age, so being 40 is generally not too old to obtain a CDL or work in this role.

What company in Texas is paying truckers $14000 a week?

Part time garbage truck drivers typically do not earn $14,000 a week, as wages for such roles are generally lower and based on hourly or per-route pay. High earnings like that are uncommon in the waste management industry and may involve additional bonuses or overtime, but such figures are not typical for part-time positions.
