Job description

Position Overview
As a Fresh Fruit Cutter, you are responsible for preparing, packaging, and maintaining high-quality fresh-cut fruit products within the store. This role ensures all items meet company standards for freshness, presentation, food safety, and sanitation while delivering an excellent experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cut fresh fruit according to company standards and recipes
  • Package and label fresh-cut fruit items accurately and attractively
  • Ensure all products meet quality, freshness, and food safety standards
  • Inspect fruits for ripeness and quality prior to cutting and preparation
  • Remove and properly dispose of damaged or substandard product
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work and prep area at all times
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
  • Monitor inventory levels of prepared items and replenish as needed
  • Rotate product using First In, First Out (FIFO) practices
  • Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and dating of all packaged items
  • Assist customers with questions related to fresh-cut fruit items
  • Communicate any product quality issues or supply needs to leadership
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Work Environment
  • Work in temperature-controlled environments, including prep areas and coolers
  • Fast-paced setting with a focus on quality and cleanliness

Schedule
  • Part-time: Approximately 25 hours per week
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications & Experience
  • Preferred: 0-1 year of experience in food preparation, produce, or grocery
  • Preferred: Basic knowledge of fruits, ripeness, and proper storage

Skills & Abilities
Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires physical mobility, including frequent stair climbing and the ability to carry items between levels, and may include sales floor conditioning, stocking, and loading activities within the produce department and throughout the store.
