Job description

The Production Worker is responsible for ensuring food safety, sorting fruit, and executing product batching procedures. This role includes preparing stabilizers, maintaining and cleaning fruit-related machinery and pails, and operating Hi-Lo and other production equipment. Additionally, the Production Worker will handle end-of-shift cleanup and cross-train to cover various responsibilities as needed to ensure smooth operations.

 

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all fruit pail lids are thoroughly rinsed before opening to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.
  • Immediately report any food safety issues to the supervisor to ensure a safe and compliant production environment.
  • Meticulously remove pits, stems, off-color fruit, and any foreign materials to ensure quality.
  • Add ingredients such as stabilizer, fruit, and flavor to the kettle as per the recipe requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain the kettle temperature to ensure proper cooking of the stabilizer.
  • Accurately weigh ingredients not handled by weight-out personnel, including starch, fruit sweeteners, colors, and certain flavors
  • Thoroughly mix the stabilizer with sugar and carefully transfer the mixture into the mixing vessel to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Efficiently pump the mixture into pails and securely place them on a pallet, ensuring safe and organized transport to the kettles.
  • Clean and assemble totes, bins, and boxes; stamp bags with product codes and apply labels to boxes; operate the Scholle Filler to fill bags; tape and stack 45lb/50lb boxes onto pallets; and clean kettles between product changes.
  • Rinse and clean utensils, tables, and pails before and after use; clean fruit pails as necessary; maintain cleanliness of the production floor; remove finished products and transport them to designated storage; bring raw materials into the production area; and clean the entire production area at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure continuity of operations by assuming the responsibilities of absent team members as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

No experience needed. Previous experience in production/manufacturing is a plus.
