Job description

We are looking for a part time Food Expo/Room Service Server.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check all tickets and position food orders in the window for food servers.
  • Ensure all orders are coming out of the kitchen in a timely manner.
  • Dress all plates with the correct quality and presentation for food servers.
  • Ensure food servers pick up food in a prompt manner.
  • Appetizers are coordinated to come out first
  • All recooked and returned food orders are served to the customerโ€™s request
  • Must ensure there is a ticket for every item that leaves the kitchen
  • Must have good multi-tasking skills that can keep the fast-paced kitchen running smoothly
  • Ability to handle issues that arise quickly and efficiently
  • Possess complete knowledge of entire menu and proper food presentation.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with other food service employees, such as Food Servers, Runners, Bus Persons, etc.
  • Maintain all sanitation and safety standards.
  • Expedites food from the kitchen to the tables as dictated
  • Describes food upon placement on the table, answering any questions pertaining to the dishes.
  • Perform posted side work and other duties as directed by management.
  • Perform other job related duties as requested including but not limited to running food to dining room to assist servers, packaging to go orders to assist hosts.ย 
  • Input all Room Service orders into P.O.S. system. Ensure accuracy of guest name and room number of each order for delivery. Access all functions of the POS system in accordance to specifications.
  • Ensure supplies are available in service area for timely setup and delivery of orders.
  • Possess complete knowledge of entire room service menu, proper food presentation, and wine, beer, champagne selection for up selling of all items.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services, features, and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Answer all questions the guest may have in a courteous manner.
  • Advise guest of the delivery time. Help guests if they need expedited service due to an emergency.
  • Resolve guest complaints within the scope of authority, otherwise refer to Supervisor.
  • Responsible for Tuscany Amenity set up for Room Service.
  • Input charges for amenity orders and coordinate delivery of such with Concierge, Restaurant Mangers, Front Desk, etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • At least 1 year of experience as an expeditor, cook, server, or Room Service order taker.
  • Ability to listen effectively and make strong judgement decisions.
  • Working knowledge of mathematics, such as: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • SNHD and TAM cards (current).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk, hear and stand. The team member is frequently required to reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir, pour, carry, push and lift objects up to 50 pounds. There is substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers. Must be able to work in a environment with exposure to second hand smoke and high noise levels.
