Description:

Areli, Inc. is seeking a part time, professional and highly dependable Security Watch Standers to support Naval Station Norfolk. Personnel will provide continuous on-site physical security, access control, and emergency response coordination support within a sensitive Department of Defense operational environment.

This role is critical to maintaining secure operations for a mission-focused command supporting U.S. Navy aircraft carrier readiness and operational response activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain continuous 24/7 security watch standing operations within the ROC facility
  • Monitor facility access points and control entry/exit of personnel and visitors
  • Verify identification credentials, security clearances, visitor logs, and access authorizations
  • Escort uncleared visitors and contractors within restricted or controlled areas
  • Conduct supplemental physical security inspections and facility walkthroughs during non-duty hours
  • Monitor alarms, surveillance systems, communication systems, and security reporting channels
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations including medical incidents, fire alarms, security breaches, or suspicious activity
  • Immediately notify emergency responders, government personnel, and command leadership when required
  • Prepare and maintain incident reports, visitor logs, security documentation, and administrative records
  • Support Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling requirements in accordance with DoD security regulations
  • Maintain strict compliance with DoD, Navy, CNAL, and facility security procedures
  • Coordinate with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Activity Security Manager (ASM), and government personnel on security-related matters
  • Perform additional administrative and physical security duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in:

  • Physical security operations
  • Access control
  • Alarm monitoring
  • Military, federal, law enforcement, or industrial security environments
  • Familiarity with:
    • DoD security procedures
    • Visitor control procedures
    • Emergency response protocols
    • Security documentation and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions during emergency situations
  • Experience using security management systems, visitor tracking systems, and basic computer applications
  • Ability to process and maintain DISS visit requests and installation access requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to climb stairs and conduct facility inspections
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
