Part-Time Bookkeeper / Financial Assistant

Are you a highly organized, solutions-focused professional who thrives on problem-solving and independence? Do you enjoy digging into financial details, resolving discrepancies, and creating clarity where others see complexity? If so, we’re looking for you.

At Brown Insurance, we need someone who can not only handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks but also take ownership of investigating and resolving financial questions across multiple systems. This role is designed for someone who enjoys researching, connecting dots, and delivering answers that make life easier for leadership and the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks.

  • Track, process, and reconcile client payments across carriers, finance companies, and our agency management system (EPIC).

  • Submit payroll and ensure commission payouts are properly allocated to producers and staff.

  • Work with management and remote bookkeeping support to align financial records.

  • Provide accurate reports for our CPA, converting data outputs into QuickBooks.

  • Research and resolve financial discrepancies independently, presenting solutions rather than problems.

  • Handle incoming checks, invoices, and other financial documents that require in-office attention.

Requirements:
  • Proven bookkeeping experience with proficiency in QuickBooks (required).

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a “find the answer” mindset.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently, research issues, and present solutions.

  • Comfortable working in a digital, paperless environment.

  • Payroll and commission reconciliation experience strongly preferred.

  • Insurance industry or Applied Epic experience a plus (ideal candidate).

Schedule & Pay:
  • Part-time: 20 hours per week

  • Preferred schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (flexible within office hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM).

  • Pay: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience.

  • No benefits offered for this role.

Brown Insurance Services has been proudly serving Florida since 1974 as a family-owned, independent agency. We represent over 80 carriers and are committed to delivering outstanding service while creating a positive, growth-minded environment for our team.
