Part Time I Third Shift (1x12)

Clinical Decision Unit I Hamburg

The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) provides telemetry level observation care for selected emergency department patients to determine whether inpatient admission is required. Patients in the CDU typically need extended monitoring, testing, and treatment. The CDU focuses on patient comfort, efficient diagnostic clarification, and timely decisions regarding safe discharge or hospital admission.

Description RN-CDU:

  • Assessment of patients' needs.
  • Development of patient care plans
  • Provision of direct care.
  • Management of patient care delivery.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Support for quality care.
  • Customer relations and healing environment.

Requirements RN-CDU:

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
