Location: Lexington, Kentucky Employment Type: Full-Time Pay: DOE, $45,000-$75,000

Salary with bonus potential Position Summary

The Staff Accountant, Bookkeeper or Financial Analyst is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with internal departments. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping

Record daily financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate posting of all entries. Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts monthly.

Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and payment runs in a timely manner. Financial Reporting & Compliance Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals.

Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.

Prepare and file required tax reports, sales/use tax filings, and other regulatory documentation. Operational Support Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and supporting documentation.

Collaborate with department managers to provide budget tracking and expenditure reports.

Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial data and documentation. Process Improvement

Recommend and implement process enhancements for efficiency and accuracy.

Assist with audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.

Qualifications Education & Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).

2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related role.

Experience with accounting software/Excel (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar). Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
