Job description

Position Title:

Part Time Instructor - School of Media & Communication

Position Type:

Fixed Term (Fixed Term)

About the Role:

The School of Media and Communication at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for part-time instructors with experience teaching communication studies (CMST 101 & CMST 110). We are seeking dynamic and engaged educators who are committed to student learning and success.

Primary Responsibilities:

Teach 1-2 sections of public speaking (CMST 101) and/or introduction to communication studies (CMST 110) in a face to face format based on need.

Qualifications:

MA in Communication Studies by start of fall semester (or Master's Degree with at least 18 hours in Communication). Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the University level appropriate to assignment. Commitment to effectively teaching and supporting students with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and learning needs.

Desired Qualifications:

PhD in communication or related field.

Required Documents:

  • Cover letter outlining teaching experience and experience

  • Curriculum vita

  • Names and contact information of at least three professional references

  • Copy of transcript from institution awarding highest degree

  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as student evaluations or syllabi if available
