Position Summary: Are you ready to love what you do?

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the full cycle of recruiting for St. Johnโ€™s. Responsibilities include Creative sourcing of candidates, receiving and processing applications, screening resumes, interviewing and selecting candidates, and facilitating the offer process. The successful candidate participates as a member of an interdisciplinary team by providing direct support for multiple facets of human resources, role models the St. John's brand characteristics, is highly motivated, able to demonstrate superb communication and interpersonal skills, is an excellent relationship builder, and delivers incredible customer service.


Qualifications & Education Required: What is required to be successful on the job?

  • Associate's Degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Prefer related work experience with responsibility to the hiring process.
  • Must embrace and exemplify St. Johnโ€™s Brand Characteristics.
  • May be required to work flexible hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Essential Functions: What will I be doing to make an impact?

  • Responsible for filling high-volume positions across St. Johnโ€™s.
  • Execute recruitment plan by recruiting for well-qualified candidates who have specific skills and values consistent with our Brand Characteristics.
  • Recruit from a variety of sources, managing the selection process to include phone and face-to-face interviews using behavior-based interviewing and filling the staffing needs within the defined service and performance criteria.
  • Manages full life cycle of the recruitment process, including but not limited to: prescreening candidates, candidate submissions to hiring managers, candidate management system updates, rate requests, offers, and/or rescinds.
  • Lead the introduction and ongoing improvements of the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain ongoing relationships with hiring managers to understand the departments and its recruitment needs in the context of their culture and mission.
  • Proactively identifies barriers to success in the recruiting process.
  • Determine organizational readiness for ongoing recruiting improvements.
  • Enhance employee/manager knowledge of recruiting and selection processes.
  • Maintain a strong rapport with key leaders in departments; attend departmental staff and other meetings as needed to acquire substantial knowledge about the departmentโ€™s organizational objectives, goals, operations and work culture.
  • Manage candidate pipeline based on current and/or future St. Johnโ€™s initiatives.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with employees, elders, vendors, local colleges and SHAGR homes.
  • Recruit in accordance with NYS and Federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Conduct exit and retention interviews to establish turnover trends.


Physical Requirements:

  • Light to moderate lifting, pushing or pulling of up to 25 lbs.
  • Sitting, standing, bending, twisting and walking.


Exposure to Conditions:

  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, and psycho-behavioral situations.
