Part Time Factoring information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part-Time Factoring Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part-Time Factoring Specialist, you need a solid understanding of finance, accounts receivable processes, and basic accounting principles, often with a relevant degree or experience in bookkeeping or finance. Familiarity with factoring software platforms, accounting systems like QuickBooks, and general office tools such as Excel is typically required. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication are important soft skills for managing client relationships and processing transactions accurately. These skills ensure efficient cash flow management, minimize errors, and maintain strong client satisfaction in a fast-paced financial environment.

What are some common challenges faced in a part-time factoring role, and how can they be managed?

In a part-time factoring role, one frequent challenge is managing tight deadlines while verifying and processing invoices, since the workload can fluctuate with client demands. Communication with both clients and internal teams is essential to ensure smooth transaction processing, especially when working limited hours. To manage these challenges, strong organizational skills and proactive time management are important, as is staying updated on company procedures and maintaining clear documentation for each transaction.

What is part time factoring?

Part time factoring refers to a flexible work arrangement where individuals engage in factoring-related tasks, such as managing invoice processing, credit checks, or account reconciliations, on a part-time basis. Factoring is a financial service where businesses sell their accounts receivable (invoices) to a third party (a factor) at a discount in exchange for immediate cash. Part time factoring roles may be found at financial institutions, factoring companies, or within the finance departments of businesses that rely on factoring services. These positions are ideal for those seeking flexible work hours while gaining experience in finance and accounts management.

What is the difference between Part Time Factoring vs Part Time Accounts Receivable Specialist?

AspectPart Time FactoringPart Time Accounts Receivable Specialist
CredentialsBasic financial knowledge, sometimes industry-specific certificationsAccounting or finance background, often with relevant certifications
Work EnvironmentFinancial firms, factoring companies, or small business settingsAccounting departments, finance teams, or small to medium businesses
Employer & Industry UsageUsed mainly in finance, lending, and invoice financing sectorsCommon in accounting, finance, and business services

Part Time Factoring involves managing invoice financing and funding for businesses, focusing on cash flow solutions. In contrast, a Part Time Accounts Receivable Specialist handles invoicing, collections, and maintaining customer accounts. While both roles require financial knowledge, factoring emphasizes funding and credit management, whereas accounts receivable focuses on billing and collections. Understanding these differences helps job seekers identify the right role based on their skills and career goals.

About Great Clips

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Great Clips, Inc. was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota by founders David Rubenzer and Steve Lemmon in 1982, a time when most people received haircuts in one of three ways: in full-service hair salons, from barbershops or at home. As a stylist and businessman, David could see that the industry was changing. Customers were looking for a hair salon service that could fit their busy lifestyles and desire for value. To be part of that change – rather than find themselves competing with it – David and Steve developed the then-radical concept of a walk-in haircare salon with weekend and evening hours, offering customers a select list of services, and providing benefits for stylists. After the founders opened several successful hair salons, Ray Barton joined David and Steve as an owner in March 1983. With Ray's help and expertise in franchising, the trio set about growing the Great Clips hair salon brand. That success continues through today.
