Job description

Medical Assistant – Express Care (Part-Time)
Southwoods Health is hiring a part-time Medical Assistant for our Express Care locations in Boardman, Campbell, and Columbiana. In this role, you will partner with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, comprehensive patient care while performing a variety of skilled clinical and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for all patients and visitors.
  • Room patients efficiently using two approved patient identifiers.
  • Measure and record vital signs, chief complaints, medications, and allergies in patient charts.
  • Collect, process, and prepare laboratory specimens safely for transport.
  • Promptly report critical lab results, adverse reactions, and key clinical updates to the provider.
  • Handle administrative tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records.
  • Advocate for patient rights and responsibilities in all daily duties.
  • Maintain full compliance with all relevant regulatory agency standards.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with a diploma; OR maintain an active registration/certification (RMA via AMT, CMA via AAMA, or CCMA via NHA).
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Excellent customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Schedule amp; Position Type:
  • Status: Part-Time (2–4 days per week)
  • Hours: Variable schedule, including weekends
