Location: ST. Louis, MO

Employment Type: Full Time, Part Time Employment, and Independent Contractor (1099)

Position Summary

Express Transport Care LLC is seeking dependable and safety-focused I Drivers with class B and class E with P & S endorsement to provide transportation services for students attending public school districts throughout Metro St. Louis, MO. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, athletic events, and other approved activities while complying with all federal, state, school district, and company regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely transport students according to assigned routes and schedules.
  • Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Perform mandatory child-check procedures at the end of every route.
  • Ensure student safety and maintain proper passenger behavior while on board.
  • Follow all Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and school district transportation policies.
  • Maintain accurate mileage logs, route sheets, and inspection reports.
  • Report accidents, incidents, mechanical issues, delays, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatchers, school staff, parents, and students.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle at all times.
  • Attend required safety meetings and training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Missouri CDL Class E and Class B License.
  • Valid Passenger (P) Endorsement.
  • Valid School Bus (S) Endorsement.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Ability to work split-shift schedules.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to comply with all company and school district safety requirements.

Required Screening and Compliance Requirements

Applicants must successfully complete and maintain the following:

  • Criminal Background Check.
  • Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Record Check.
  • FBI Fingerprint-Based Background Check (if required by school district).
  • Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Screening (if required).
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical Examination.
  • Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
  • Pre-Employment Alcohol Screening.
  • Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Review.
  • Verification of CDL License and Endorsements.
  • Verification of Eligibility to Work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous school bus driving experience.
  • Experience transporting students with special needs.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Knowledge of Missouri pupil transportation regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a school bus.
  • Ability to assist students entering and exiting the vehicle when necessary.
  • Ability to perform emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.

Compensation
