Key Responsibilities

  • Photography & Videography
    • Shoot and style photos and short-form video of produce, prepared foods, events, farm visits, and behind-the-scenes moments
    • Edit and deliver polished assets for Instagram, LinkedIn, and other digital channels
    • Capture real-time content at company events and activations
    • Organize and upload assets to shared folders for team access
  • Social Media
    • Create content across Midwest Foods' social channels (primarily Instagram and LinkedIn)
    • Write captions and short-form copy that fit the brand voice and seasonal priorities
    • Build and maintain a social content calendar
    • Handle community engagement and real-time coverage at events
  • Creative & Strategic Collaboration
    • Work with the marketing team on shot lists, content direction, and campaign themes
    • Design simple social graphics using Canva or similar tools
    • Contribute ideas during content planning and brainstorm sessions
    • Gain visibility into how social content connects to broader marketing strategy, seasonal priorities, and sales initiatives
    • Collaborate across marketing, sales, and operations teams to understand the full foodservice ecosystem

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • 1-3 years of experience in content creation, social media, photography, or a related field (freelance, agency, brand-side, all count)
  • Strong photography skills; videography and short-form video editing experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to create content that performs on Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Comfortable with editing tools such as Lightroom, Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or equivalent
  • Strong writing skills for short-form copy and captions
  • Organized and self-directed; able to manage a calendar and meet deadlines without hand-holding
  • Canva familiarity a plus; Adobe Creative Suite experience welcome
  • Reliable transportation required; access to a personal vehicle recommended, as this role requires travel to events and activations throughout Chicagoland and occasionally to our Kenosha, WI location
  • Portfolio or examples of past work required with your application
