Job Description:
Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Athletics Scoreboard Operator position for the 2024-2025 season. This fixed term position (August - May) position is responsible for game clock and scoreboard operations related to a given sport. This position is assigned to sporting events throughout the year which include but not limited to: Men's and Women's Soccer, Football, Wrestling, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate shot clock, game clock or scoreboard during varsity competitions
  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules.
  • During events, the game clock operator may have to interact with and work alongside the following: assigned game officials, Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff.

Qualifications
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of a given sports rules and regulations.
  • This position also requires a knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules.
  • Must be able to observe and react quickly to events on the field/court/athletic venue.
  • Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • The successful candidate for this position with be required to complete a criminal background check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
