Job description

SUMMARY
The Event Security staff must have the ability to establish rapport with diverse team members and guests. You must be comfortable addressing guest concerns, experienced in utilizing de-escalation techniques, and prepared to respond to high-stress and emergency situations.
This role is focused on maintaining a safe and secure environment across the brewery property during amphitheater event days, with primary responsibilities centered on outdoor areas including parking lots, entrances, and surrounding grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for guests entering the property, projecting a professional and approachable demeanor
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Founders’ culture, event layout, and property grounds; effectively communicate that information to guests
  • Maintain a watchful presence across the property, including parking areas and event spaces, for signs of intoxication, disorderly conduct, violence, theft, or property damage
  • Assist with guest flow, including directing guests to parking areas, entrances, exits, and event spaces
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage elevated guest situations
  • Escort problematic patrons from the property when necessary
  • Demonstrate understanding of Michigan law as it pertains to the sale of alcohol
  • Obtain or maintain ServSafe Alcohol Certification
  • Discreetly communicate with event staff, security team members, and Managers on Duty regarding guest concerns or safety issues
  • Assist with monitoring access points and verifying credentials or IDs as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned outdoor areas, including monitoring for hazards
  • Accompany staff members to their vehicles at night upon request
  • Conduct routine sweeps of the property, including parking areas and surrounding grounds, to ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Assist with emergency scenarios as directed by leadership
  • Regularly check communication channels (email, whiteboards, updates) for important information
  • Promote a clean, positive, courteous, and professional attitude and appearance to all employees and guests
