About the Hiring Group

Interns will work alongside experienced environmental scientists, and chemists, and receive training in environmental sampling techniques, and contribute directly to a real-world screening study investigating environmental impacts associated with aircraft operations.


What You'll Do

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated undergraduate or graduate student interested in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field to assist with an air quality and soil monitoring study. The successful candidate will support field sampling activities, maintain sampling equipment, collect environmental samples, and document field observations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental monitoring and research methods.


What You'll Need

Required

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Geology, Atmospheric Science, or a related discipline.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently after training.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • You must be able to travel to sampling locations in Florida 33024 zip code. No relocation will be provided.

Hours: 10–20 hours per week (flexible, including occasional early mornings or weekends)

Preferred but not required

  • Previous field sampling or laboratory experience.
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Experience using GPS devices or mapping software.
  • Knowledge of air quality or soil sampling techniques.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER or other environmental safety training.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk over uneven terrain.
  • Lift and transport sampling equipment.
  • Work in hot, humid, or cold weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel during equipment setup and sample collection.
