Job description

Overview
The Work:
The Occupational Health Nurse will be providing services offered under the client's medical office services, such as assessing patients' health conditions, monitoring vital signs, providing patient care-based treatment plans, Workers Compensation follow-ups, screenings, and administering immunizations.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide all services normally offered under an Occupational Health Medical Office Services, including audiometry, spirometry screenings, immunizations and worker's compensation follow-up.
  • Observe and evaluate a patient's physical status by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and conducting a thorough assessment.
  • Act as the nurse case manager for workers' compensation cases.
  • Work with web-based computer systems, Medgate Occupational Health and Safety software, and Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol.
  • Provide clear instructions and information to patients about their conditions, medications, and self-care practices.
  • Administer medications accurately and safely according to Physicians' orders.
  • Maintain detailed patient records, including observations, interventions, and progress updates.
  • Work effectively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patients' care.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients.
  • Maintain work area, exam rooms, and supplies.
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Attend meetings as requested.
  • Must adhere to all the client's policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to employer work practices as described in Cayuse policies.
  • Perform additional reports as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications - Here's What You Need:
  • Graduate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Be licensed to practice in Fort Worth, Texas
  • Be certified as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist (CAOHC) Hearing Technician
  • Be certified to administer CPR and use an AED
  • Must be able to pass a Tier one background,
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

Reports to: Program Manager
Working Conditions:
  • Professional hospital work setting.
  • This is an on-call, part-time position.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 24 hours, 3 Shifts.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
