Job description

McCannel Eye Clinic, founded by Dr. Malcolm McCannel in 1949, has an immediate opening for a part-time front desk receptionist in Edina, MN.

The candidate we are looking for must have excellent skills in customer service, be detail oriented, and able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate must be friendly, loves to work with people (especially the older population group!), and has great verbal communication skills. Having the ability to function well as a member of a team is a must. Experience in ophthalmology is a plus, but not required.

Duties include, but are not limited to: answering incoming phone calls, prepping charts for upcoming appointments, medical records requests, checking in and out patients/receiving payments due at the front desk using the EPM/EHR, scanning correspondence into patient's charts, requesting pre-op physicals, and other duties as needed pertaining to the front desk.

This is a part time offering with variable hours, The days of operation are Monday-Wednesday, daytime hours starting @ 6:00 am until surgery patients are done (usually 11-1), averaging 18 hours weekly. Flexibility is key; we work when there's surgeries, which means there can be occasional days we are off due to vacations, etc. from the surgeons.

Although this is not a benefitted position, a retirement plan with company match is offered and if a holiday falls on a usually scheduled day of work (M-W), you will receive holiday pay.

If you are looking for a flexible, part-time environment to fill your socialization bucket and feel productive, this is the right place. We are a small group of staff each wearing many hats and together form an effective and efficient TEAM!
