Job description

Description
The Department of Engineering and Science Education (ESED) at Clemson University is seeking applicants for a part-time postdoctoral researcher to conduct research and engage in professional development related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and policy. The postdoctoral researcher will be an active member of a research team, working collaboratively with faculty, graduate students, and other postdoctoral researchers in ESED.
About Engineering and Science Education at Clemson University
The ESED department conducts and advances research in all STEM disciplines, translates research to evidence-based practice, and prepares leaders who will act as catalysts for change. We are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where collaboration and creativity thrive. ESED faculty have established strong research programs via external funding (including multiple NSF CAREER awards), peer-reviewed scholarly work, national and international collaborations, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers. The ESED department is focused on graduate student education through a student-centered approach to courses and professional development activities, offering a Ph.D. in Engineering and Science Education and a certificate for Ph.D. students pursuing STEM graduate degrees across the university. Since the program was established in 2006, graduates from the Ph.D. and certificate programs have taken positions at research-intensive and teaching-focused academic institutions as well as positions in industry and non-profit organizations. There are currently six research-active faculty members, two faculty with administrative appointments, three postdoctoral research fellows, two staff members, and 24 graduate students in the ESED department.
Qualifications
Individuals who have either completed their Ph.D. on or after August 2023 in a field of STEM, STEM Education, Education, or a related discipline, can apply. Applicants should have experience conducting independent research in a field related to STEM education.
