Summary
Provides primary health care services to hospital and clinic patients. Performs examinations; performs or orders diagnostic test; establishes diagnosis; prescribes medication; instructs patients and family members about continuing care.
Position Reports To: Clinical Nursing Supervisor
Essential Functions
  1. Sees patients in the clinic and virtually for examination, assessment and optimization of chronic health conditions prior to undergoing anesthesia assisted surgeries or procedures. Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
  2. Educates patients and families and helps them understand issues related to physical and emotional health and promotes wellness.
  3. Participates in decisions, planning, and policies related to clinical care.
  4. Maintains accurate, thorough and complete medical records in a timely manner and demonstrates proficiency in using the Electronic Medical Record documentation system.
  5. Refers patients to specialty services when appropriate.
  6. Collaborates with staff and physicians to identify patient's needs and help develop a plan to meet those needs.
  7. Provides professional medical services within the scope of training and responsibility, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and organizational policies.
  8. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Demonstrate standards of behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Active Registered Nurse and ARNP licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • Handles confidential medical information and problems in a discreet manner according to CH policies.
  • Must possess basic computer skills related to EHR and Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication, and password management.

Desired:
  • Recent, relevant experience in family practice or internal medicine setting.
  • Proficient in EPIC EHR documentation and navigation.
