Job description

Fischione Instruments is seeking a part-time experienced soldering professional. This individual will be responsible for preparing, soldering and testing of circuit boards prior to final assembly of state-of-the-art microscopy preparation equipment. (20-30 hours per week)
Core Responsibilities
  • Assemble parts or circuit boards and position, align, and fasten circuit boards to assemblies, sub-assemblies, or frames, using hand tools and power tools
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings
  • Apply potting compound to boards prior to curing, ensuring boards are operationally safe
  • Perform through-hole soldering of circuit board components and wiring
  • Repair and/or replace defective parts rejected by test personnel
  • Route and attach wires and connectors to electronic circuitry and/or sub-assemblies
  • Conduct functional testing of boards post soldering prior to engineering approval

Qualifications and Experience
  • 3+ years soldering experience
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures and drawings
  • Vocational or technical school training is helpful but not required
  • Experience with hand tools, crimpers, and hand soldering is required
  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) experience is preferred but not required
