Job description

Job Family STAFF - Support Staff Grade H1 Salary $14.22 - $17.62 (Based on Degree Earned) Department Mathematics Reports To Department Chairperson Closing Date Open Until Filled FLSA Status Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation First Review Date June 5, 2026
Position Overview
The Part-Time Lab Instructor provides academic support and supplemental instruction to Mathematics students, including developmental through College level mathematics.
What you will be doing
  • Serves as a role model and motivates students to achieve their academic needs
  • Serves as a resource for the primary instructor
  • Actively provides tutorial assistance and academic coaching
  • Attends tutor trainings and required meetings
  • Collaborates with the primary instructor and administers tests, quizzes, or other assignments
  • Meets with assigned classes in a regular classroom at scheduled times each week
  • Answers students' questions regarding the assignments, and reviews materials as requested
  • Monitors academic progress, maintains students' records and attendance rosters
  • Monitors on-site computer resources and guides students to use the educational software at the labs
  • Provides assistance with registration for students in the scheduled lab
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field from a regionally accredited institution and one (1) year of teaching or related experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives and policies and procedures
  • Possess well-developed communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Knowledge and understanding of student and faculty requirements for lab procedures, skills, and testing
  • Ability to positively interact with staff, students, and faculty
  • Knowledge of computer applications and educational technologies for academic support
  • Possess an aptitude for teaching and interest in working with students
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
