Part Time Ecd Teaching Jobs (NOW HIRING)

St. Matthew's Preschool is a faith-based, licensed center serving children 18 months to age 5.

Be prepared to engage and interact with children, actively participating with children on many levels. The assistant must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. The assistant will be responsible for interacting and engaging with children in developmentally appropriate activities under the direction of the Lead Teacher.

IMMEDIATE OPENING - PART TIME

A part time position is available for an assistant teacher for 3 and 4 year old classes for morning preschool for hours 8:30 to 1:00, with some flexibility preferred.

• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

• Minimum of 6 months of SC licensed child care program experience.
• ECD 101 certificate
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.
• An understanding of child development.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
• Understand and abide by Spartanburg Quality Counts standards.
• Must be able and willing to take frequent walks, engage in outdoor activity, use hands, fingers and handle objects, to talk clearly and hear voices at different levels.
• Must be able to kneel, bend ,squat in the classroom and playground environment.
• Vision ability will include seeing up close and distances, to have peripheral vision and depth perception.

• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• 1 year or more of experience working in a licensed child care center.
• CDA and additional Early Care and Education course work or degrees.

• Evaluation after 90 days.
