Job Description

Position Summary:

The EADSIM Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as a technical and program leader responsible for supporting and overseeing the development and modernization of a large Department of Defense (DoD) modeling and simulation software program. This role combines advanced technical expertise with program oversight, user engagement, and strategic growth, ensuring the software remains operationally relevant, visually intuitive, and aligned with evolving mission needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership & Modernization
    • Support and oversee the development, sustainment, and modernization of a large-scale DoD software program.
    • Identify and implement enhancements to improve system performance, scalability, and usability.
    • Coordinate with software developers, systems engineers, and program leadership to align modernization efforts with mission priorities.
  • User Support & Visualization Enhancements
    • Support the user community by improving graphics, visualizations, and operational representations within the software.
    • Gather user feedback and translate operational needs into enhanced user interfaces and mission-relevant displays.
    • Ensure models and outputs are intuitive and effectively communicate complex engagement scenarios and results.
  • Customer Engagement & Growth
    • Identify and develop new customers, mission areas, and use cases across DoD, missile defense, and space programs.
    • Support business development activities by demonstrating software capabilities and aligning them with emerging customer needs.
    • Assist in shaping opportunities, capturing new work, and expanding program scope.
  • Modeling, Simulation & Analysis
    • Develop and execute simulation scenarios supporting air and missile defense missions.
    • Provide mission-level analysis to assess system performance and operational effectiveness.
    • Support test and evaluation events, exercises, and analytical studies.
  • Integration & Collaboration
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, test, operations, and program management) to ensure seamless integration of new capabilities.
    • Interface with government stakeholders, test organizations, and end-users to maintain alignment with requirements and expectations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 20+ years of experience in modeling and simulation or DoD software systems, with demonstrated expertise in EADSIM or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting software development, sustainment, or modernization efforts in a DoD environment.
  • Strong understanding of missile defense or air and missile engagement concepts.
  • Experience interacting with users and translating operational needs into technical improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting programs associated with Missile Defense Agency (MDA), U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), or test range operations.
  • Experience in business development, opportunity shaping, or customer engagement.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and systems engineering principles.
  • Active DoD security clearance.
