A Part-Time Document Review Attorney is a legal professional who reviews documents for relevance, privilege, and confidentiality in litigation, regulatory investigations, or compliance matters. They typically work on a temporary or project basis for law firms, corporations, or legal service providers. Responsibilities include analyzing documents, coding information, and ensuring adherence to case requirements. This role often allows for flexible hours and remote work.
As a Part Time Document Review Attorney, you will commonly review emails, contracts, memos, correspondence, and other legal materials relevant to litigation or regulatory investigations. Your work will often involve identifying privileged or responsive information, tagging documents in electronic discovery platforms, and summarizing key findings for supervising attorneys. The workflow usually consists of reviewing documents in batches, adhering to project deadlines, and coordinating with project managers or lead attorneys for direction and status updates. You'll be part of a team environment but may also work independently, and your contributions are vital to building the case strategy. This structure provides both flexibility and the opportunity to sharpen your legal analysis skills.
A Part Time Document Review Attorney should possess a Juris Doctor degree, active bar admission, and strong attention to detail for analyzing legal documents efficiently. Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Concordance, or Logikcull is commonly required, along with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong organizational skills, written communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team help candidates excel in this role. Mastery of these abilities ensures accurate document review, compliance with project deadlines, and effective collaboration within a legal team.
