Position Overview

The MCICOM G7 Digital Engagement Specialist will assist the COMSTRAT branch with the successful execution of the COMSTRAT program, ensuring that MCICOM communicates to inform key stakeholders to maximize operational success. The Digital Engagement Specialist will support engagement of key audiences for DC I&L and MCICOM via the G7 and COMMSTRAT director through face-to-face outreach or via designated owned and earned media as required.

Essential Job Function

  • Develop engagement strategies for key audiences.
  • Support engagements via the MCICOM COMMSTRAT director.
  • Prepare MCICOM personnel for owned and earned media interviews (e.g. live/taped, remote/studio, face-to-face).
  • Support press/news media events.
  • Escort media as required.
  • Draft messages and responses for responses to media queries.
  • Draft press releases and public statements in support of events and incident response.
  • Identify misinformation and disinformation and make recommendations to effectively steer the MCICOM narrative back toward objectives.
  • Manage MCICOM digital communication platforms to include the website and social media in support of the MCICOM COMMSTRAT director.
  • Research, plan, implement, and assess digital communication plans in support of MCICOM objectives.
  • Synchronize and coordinate execution of MCICOM communication with key audiences and networks.
  • Support execution of MCICOM community engagement events.
  • Provide COMMSTRAT counsel throughout command assessment.
  • Receive, advise, and draft messages in support of community requests for information and support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least ten (10) years of specialized experience or a Master’s Degree and at least four (4) years of specialized experience.
  • Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience as any of the following: Social Media Specialist, Engagements Specialist
